Andrew Ford, first became an amputee nearly 6 years ago when he lost the lower part of his right arm due to untreatable gout, and then three years later he lost his left leg below the knee.

Because of his experiences, Ford started his own support group, Motivational Energy. He spends his time helping other amputees within his support group. Ford has become a certified peer visitor to help other amputees and share his experiences. In addition, he travels to other cities to meet with other amputees who may find it difficult to come to terms with their own amputation.
